The International Energy Agency (IEA) has stated that energy efficiency is a prerequisite for achieving climate neutrality. They have even provided a recipe for it: By 2030, the world must triple its renewable energy production capacity and double the annual rate of energy efficiency improvements to stay on track for net-zero emissions by 2050. That is why we have adopted this recipe as our main goal for the Energy-Efficient Industrial Park pillar.
Being energy-efficient is perhaps the most important contribution an industrial park can make to society. Energy is the most crucial resource we have as we work to decarbonize society in the coming years. There will be very little new energy available in Norway by 2030, so we must use the energy we already have in the most efficient way possible.
An energy-efficient industrial park optimizes its energy use to minimize waste, reduce costs, and simultaneously achieve high productivity.
Raufoss Industrial Park consists of over 50 companies. All of these companies have had the opportunity to contribute to the Planet 2030 – Raufoss Industrial Park project. The most active participants are those companies involved in the production of goods, with the largest number of employees and the greatest impact on energy use and climate, as well as service providers:
Benteler Automotive, Hexagon Ragasco, Isiflo, Kongsberg Automotive, Nammo Raufoss, Plasman, Raufoss Aluminium, Raufoss Technology, and Solør Bio.
