This pillar is limited to within the boundaries of Raufoss Industrial Park but also includes all the NCE Manufacturing-cluster companies. In this way, we have defined our own “planet” where the vision is to achieve climate neutrality across the entire value chain by 2040. However, we believe it is possible to become climate-neutral within our defined boundaries by 2030. To achieve this, we have moved Scope 3 emissions to a separate pillar, which we call the Responsible Industrial Park. There are not big amounts of emissions in the park, and we have already identified all emissions within the park's boundaries. Our goal is to reduce all emissions within the park's boundaries to near zero by 2030, at which point we can claim to have a climate-neutral industrial park. This is the first step toward what we call climate-neutral industrial production, which is within reach as soon as the suppliers of raw materials reduce their emissions to near zero.
The concept of climate neutrality means achieving a balance between greenhouse gas emissions and removals, or alternatively compensating for one’s emissions by ensuring reductions elsewhere. However, we must remember that the Climate Committee has stated that by 2050, there should be no emissions from the industrial sector. Therefore, a climate-neutral industrial park is just one step along the way, which is why we have set this goal for 2030.
Raufoss Industrial Park consists of over 50 companies. All of these companies have had the opportunity to contribute to the Planet 2030 – Raufoss Industrial Park project. The most active participants are those companies involved in the production of goods, with the largest number of employees and the greatest impact on energy use and climate, as well as service providers:
Benteler Automotive, Hexagon Ragasco, Isiflo, Kongsberg Automotive, Nammo Raufoss, Plasman, Raufoss Aluminium, Raufoss Technology, and Solør Bio.
